Book Launchers is a Las Vegas self-publishing services company, run by Julie Broad, that edits, designs, publishes and markets nonfiction books for experts and business owners. Its core publishing package costs $8,000 to $10,500, and you keep your rights and all of your royalties.

It suits a consultant, coach or speaker who already has the money, wants a professional team, and will use the book to win clients or stages. If you need a first draft, or you want the book to pay for itself from royalties alone, the same result costs far less another way.

In this Book Launchers review, you’ll learn:

  • What each package includes and costs, using Book Launchers’ own published figures
  • How the process, rights and royalties work, and what the site does not say
  • What Book Launchers reviews and complaints actually show, platform by platform
  • Where Book Launchers genuinely beats Chapter, and who should walk away

Here is the full assessment.

What Book Launchers Actually Is

Book Launchers — a paid self-publishing services company that handles editing, design, publishing setup and book marketing for nonfiction authors, who stay the publisher and owner of their book.

Julie Broad founded the company and runs it as president. Before Book Launchers she worked in real estate investing and self-published More Than Cashflow, which she says reached #1 on Amazon, after a traditional deal fell through. She told the Stark Reflections podcast that story in 2021.

She also runs the Book Launchers YouTube channel, which teaches nonfiction authors to write and market a “#noboringbook.” For many authors, that free channel is their first contact with the company.

The company’s homepage says it has helped more than 800 authors, and its address is in Las Vegas, Nevada. It only works on nonfiction. If you write novels, Book Launchers is not for you.

Book Launchers is not a traditional publisher, and it says so plainly. It also differs from the vanity model used by companies like the one in our Page Publishing review, because you, not the company, are the publisher of record in the self-publishing sense. Our guide to hybrid publishers versus vanity presses explains why that distinction matters.

How Much Does Book Launchers Cost?

Book Launchers costs $8,000 to $10,500 for its core done-with-you publishing package, priced by word count. A fuller done-for-you service runs $3,300 per month, and two marketing-only packages cost $5,000 and $10,000.

These figures come from the company’s services overview page, checked on October 30, 2026:

PackagePublished priceWhat it is
Author Essentials$8,000 to $10,500Editing, design and publishing setup; price scales with word count
Author Amplified$3,300 per monthEverything in Essentials, plus brand, website and platform work
3-Month Author Discoverability$5,000 one timeMarketing setup plus three months of active promotion
6-Month Author Discoverability$10,000 one timeThe same setup with six months of promotion
Author Launch KitNo price listedDo-it-yourself book marketing software

The page does not say how many months an Author Amplified engagement usually lasts. A book that takes nine months at $3,300 a month would cost close to $30,000, so ask for a written estimate of the total before you sign.

Older third-party reviews quoted different numbers. A 2023 review listed monthly plans at $1,750 and $3,000, plus courses at $2,000 and $2,500. Treat those as history, not current pricing.

What Do Book Launchers’ Packages Include?

The packages bundle the work a traditional publisher would do, then add marketing on top. The services page groups the work into editorial, design, publishing setup, brand and promotion.

Here is what the services page lists:

  • Editorial: content edit, copy edit, fact check and proofread, plus “professional writer collaboration” and title, subtitle and metadata strategy
  • Design: cover design, print and ebook interior layout, and redesign of up to 10 or 20 images depending on tier
  • Publishing setup: upload, distribution and account setup, plus guidance on LCCN, PCIP and copyright
  • Brand and platform (Amplified): author brand identity, a website with an email funnel, and a launch roadmap
  • Promotion: a shared or dedicated strategist, podcast, media and speaking pitching, Amazon ads management, presale promotions, review pitching and ARC campaign support

The Discoverability packages add Amazon A+ content, keyword and category research, a media kit and speaker one-sheet, award submissions, Goodreads giveaway support and what the page calls “guaranteed podcast placements.”

The page’s grid is not perfectly clear about which line items belong to which tier. Get a line-by-line scope in writing for the package you are quoted.

Audiobook production is also offered, but no price is published. You apply for details.

How Does the Book Launchers Process Work?

You start by applying, not by checking out. Book Launchers screens authors before it quotes, and Broad said in 2021 that the company accepts roughly 10% of the people who approach it.

The typical sequence looks like this:

  1. Application and strategy call. You describe the book, your business goal and your timeline.
  2. Quote and agreement. The price depends on word count and the tier you choose.
  3. Editing. A content edit on structure, then copy editing, fact checking and proofreading.
  4. Design. Cover, interior layout and image work for print and ebook.
  5. Publishing setup. Book Launchers sets up your retailer and distribution accounts in your name.
  6. Launch and promotion. Presales, ARC readers, review outreach, ads and podcast pitching, depending on tier.

The services page says most books take 3 to 6+ months from editing to final publication. The homepage FAQ is blunter: editing, cover and layout take at least three months and often six or more. Writing time, if you have not finished, sits on top of that.

Compare that with uploading a finished, edited book to Amazon yourself, which takes days. Our KDP review walks through that route.

Do You Keep Your Rights and Royalties With Book Launchers?

Yes. The services page answers “Who owns the rights to my book?” with “You do,” and says you retain full ownership, full royalties and full creative control.

That is the single biggest difference between Book Launchers and most author-funded publishers. You do not split royalties, you do not wait for a fee to recoup, and the sales go to your own accounts.

What the public pages do not say:

  • Whose name appears as publisher on the ISBN
  • The refund or cancellation terms if the project stops
  • The minimum term of an Author Amplified monthly plan

Ask for all three in writing. Our guide to book royalties explained shows what you will actually earn per copy once you control the retailer accounts.

What Book Launchers Does Well

Book Launchers is built around one idea: a nonfiction book is a marketing asset for your business, not a lottery ticket. If that matches your goal, the company does several things well.

It edits for structure, not just grammar. A content edit plus fact check is the edit most first nonfiction manuscripts need. Many paid publishers only offer a copy edit.

You keep everything. Full rights, full royalties and your own retailer accounts mean you can change prices, run promotions and see every sale.

The pricing is public. Many services in this tier quote only after a sales call. Book Launchers publishes its package ranges, which lets you budget before you talk to anyone.

Marketing is the point, not an afterthought. Podcast pitching, speaking pitches, ARC campaigns and Amazon ads are real launch work. Our book launch checklist lists the same tasks you would otherwise do yourself.

The founder teaches in public. Broad’s free YouTube videos and books let you judge her advice before you spend anything. That is a strong trust signal.

The results it shows are specific. Its success stories page lists named authors, including a multi-week USA Today bestseller and a launch with more than 4,300 preorders.

What Book Launchers Does Not Do Well

The core issue is cost against what most authors need. At $8,000 to $10,500 before marketing, Book Launchers sits at the top of the self-publishing services market.

It is expensive for a royalty-only goal. If your book nets about $4 a copy, you need to sell more than 2,000 copies to earn back $8,000. Most self-published nonfiction never gets there on royalties alone. Book Launchers is betting on clients and speaking fees, not book sales.

Monthly pricing can run long. At $3,300 a month, a slow project gets expensive fast. Your response time drives the timeline, so delays on your side cost you money.

It does not write the book for you. The package mentions “professional writer collaboration,” but the services page does not describe a full ghostwriting service. If you have no manuscript, you still have the hardest step ahead.

It is slow. Three to six months or more of production, on top of writing time, is a long wait if you need the book for a talk or launch date.

It is nonfiction only. Novelists, poets and children’s authors need to look elsewhere.

Key contract terms are not public. ISBN ownership, refund rules and plan length are not on the services page. That does not mean they are bad, only that you have to ask.

Independent reviews are thin. For a company that has worked with hundreds of authors, there is surprisingly little independent feedback online, as the next section shows.

What Do Book Launchers Reviews and Complaints Say?

Book Launchers reviews are thin and mostly positive, and we found no pattern of public complaints. Most of the praise sits on the company’s own site or on affiliate-style blogs. Checked on October 30, 2026:

SourceWhat it shows
TrustpilotProfile claimed in April 2026, zero reviews so far
Book Launchers success storiesAbout 38 testimonials from named authors, all positive
BBBWe could not find a BBB profile for Book Launchers
RedditWe found no detailed Reddit threads about Book Launchers
Third-party blogsA handful of favorable reviews, mostly from 2023 or earlier, several promoting other offers

Book Launchers reviews on Trustpilot. The profile exists and is claimed, but no one has reviewed the company there yet. A blank profile is neither a red flag nor an endorsement.

Book Launchers complaints. Searching “Book Launchers reviews complaints” turns up mostly other companies with similar names, such as Book Launch USA. We found no complaint threads, lawsuits or watchdog warnings tied to Book Launchers itself.

Book Launchers reviews on Reddit. We could not find substantive Reddit threads to cite. The company also runs a Skool community for self-publishing authors, which is where many clients and prospects talk, but posts there are not independent reviews.

Book Launchers and the ALLi watchdog. The Alliance of Independent Authors runs a self-publishing services watchdog. We could not confirm a rating for Book Launchers on it either way, so check the live list before you sign.

How to read the gap. Positive testimonials on a company’s own page are selected by the company. Before you pay, ask Book Launchers for two or three past clients you can call, and look up their books on Amazon to see the finished product.

How the Pricing Compares to Doing It Yourself

Doing the same steps yourself costs a fraction of a Book Launchers package, because publishing on Amazon KDP is free. Your real costs are editing, a cover and, if you want one, your own ISBN.

The DIY route trades money for time and learning. Book Launchers trades money for expertise and a team that has run hundreds of launches.

Where Book Launchers Beats Chapter

We make Chapter, so here is where Book Launchers genuinely does something we do not.

Book Launchers publishes and launches your book. Chapter does not. Chapter writes a complete manuscript. It does not do a human content edit, fact check, design a cover, set up your KDP and Ingram accounts, or run a launch. Book Launchers does all of that.

Book Launchers gives you a team of people. You get editors, designers and a strategist who know nonfiction. Chapter is software. If you want an experienced human telling you your chapter three is weak, that is something we cannot give you.

Book Launchers markets the book to grow your business. Podcast pitching, speaking pitches, review campaigns and Amazon ads management are services Chapter does not offer at any price. For a speaker, those podcast bookings can matter more than the book.

Book Launchers has a track record with launches. Named authors on its site hit USA Today lists and thousands of preorders. Chapter can help you finish the book, but it does not run your launch.

Book Launchers handles audiobooks. Chapter does not produce audiobooks.

If you already have a polished manuscript, a budget of $10,000 or more, and your goal is clients or keynotes, Book Launchers offers a more complete service than Chapter does.

Who Should Use Book Launchers

Book Launchers fits a specific author well:

  • You are a coach, consultant, speaker or founder who will use the book to win clients or stages
  • You have a budget of roughly $10,000 or more and value your time above the savings
  • You want a content edit and fact check, not just a proofread
  • You want launch marketing run for you, including podcasts and speaking pitches
  • You want to keep full rights and royalties while someone else handles production

If you are still planning the book, our guide on how to write a business book covers the writing side first.

Who Should Not Use Book Launchers

Walk away if any of these describe you:

  • You write fiction. Book Launchers only takes nonfiction.
  • You need the book to earn back its cost from royalties. At $8,000 or more, most nonfiction books never sell enough copies.
  • You are on a tight budget. Self-publishing directly costs nothing to publish, and editing and a cover can be bought separately.
  • You need the book in weeks. Production alone takes three to six months or more.
  • You have not written the book yet. No publishing or launch package helps until a manuscript exists, and the outline is where most authors stall. Our nonfiction book outline guide is a good place to start.

Comparing services? Our BookBaby review covers a cheaper production-focused option, and our guide on how to market a self-published book shows what you can run yourself.

The Alternative We Built

Book Launchers solves the problem after the manuscript exists. Most authors who look at it are stuck on the step before that: getting a complete, structured first draft written.

Our Pick — Chapter

Chapter is AI book writing software that takes you from an idea to a complete, structured nonfiction manuscript in your voice. More than 10,000 authors have used it, and it has been featured in USA Today and the New York Times. You keep 100% of the rights and publish wherever you choose.

Best for: Experts and business owners who have the knowledge but have not finished the manuscript Pricing: $97 one time, 2 books included (fiction or nonfiction), 30-day money-back guarantee Why we built it: A launch team cannot launch a book that does not exist, and the draft is where most nonfiction authors stall.

Chapter has honest limits. There is no free tier or trial, it does not edit, design, publish or market your book, and you still review and revise what it drafts. Our Chapter review covers what it does and does not do.

The two are not either-or. You can write the manuscript with Chapter, then hand a finished draft to Book Launchers, a freelance editor or KDP. Arriving with a complete draft also shortens a paid service’s timeline, which matters when you are paying by the month.

If you have the expertise but not the manuscript, Chapter for nonfiction writes the complete book for $97 one time, with 2 books included, no subscription and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
