Jasper pricing has two plans as of September 2026: Pro at $59 per seat per month billed annually, or $69 per month billed monthly, and Business at a custom price that starts with a 12-month commitment. There is no permanent free plan, only a 7-day free trial on Pro.

Every number here comes from Jasper’s official pricing page, checked on 17 September 2026. Prices change, so use that link to confirm before you buy.

In this breakdown, you’ll get:

  • Both Jasper plans with monthly and annual numbers side by side
  • What Pro includes, what it leaves out, and where credits come in
  • The real cost of using Jasper for a book project
  • An honest section on where Jasper beats Chapter

Here are the plans.

How Much Does Jasper Cost per Month?

Jasper costs $69 per seat per month on the Pro plan with monthly billing, or $59 per seat per month when you pay annually. That annual price works out to $708 a year for one seat. The Business plan has no published price, so you need a quote from Jasper’s sales team.

PlanBilled monthlyBilled annually (per mo)SeatsFree trial
Pro$69$59 ($708/year)1 included7 days
BusinessCustom quoteCustom quote, 12-month commitmentBuilt for teamsNo published trial

Jasper says annual billing saves “~20%”. Over a year, that means $708 annually versus $828 monthly, which is a $120 difference on one seat.

The monthly plan has one feature most tools don’t offer. You can pause it for 30 days instead of cancelling. If you write in bursts, that matters.

What Does the Jasper Pro Plan Include?

The Jasper Pro plan includes one seat, the Canvas content workspace, agents for core marketing workflows, 2 Brand Voices, 5 Knowledge assets, 3 Audiences, image generation and editing, and email support. It is built for one marketer or a solo creator, not a team.

Here is what Pro leaves out, according to the official comparison table:

  • No API access — only on Business
  • No Style Guide or Visual Guidelines — only on Business
  • No Jasper Studio, the no-code builder for custom agents
  • No SSO, admin controls or dedicated account manager
  • No extra seats — if you need a second user, Jasper sends you to sales for a Business quote

For a solo author, the missing features rarely matter. The seat limit matters more. If you work with a co-author or an assistant, Pro doesn’t have a published price for that setup.

Jasper also says its content tools work in over 30 languages. It offers a browser extension for Chrome and Edge that brings Jasper into the other apps you already write in.

What Does the Jasper Business Plan Cost?

The Jasper Business plan has no public price. You get a custom quote based on seats and usage, and every Business contract starts with a 12-month commitment. Jasper aims it at marketing teams that need unlimited Brand Voices, API access, governance controls and priority support.

On top of everything in Pro, Business adds:

  • Agents for complex workflows, including GEO, translation and deep research
  • Jasper Grid for producing content at scale
  • Unlimited Brand Voices, Knowledge assets and Audiences
  • API access, SSO and SCIM
  • A dedicated customer success manager

Independent pricing trackers such as Vendr collect reported contract values. We couldn’t verify a typical Business price against anything Jasper publishes, so we won’t quote one. If a Business quote matters to you, get it in writing from Jasper.

How Do Jasper Credits Work?

Jasper credits are a usage meter for advanced features, not for everyday writing. The official pricing page says usage-based features “like the GEO Hub and Agents, run on credits.” It says those credits sit alongside seat pricing on Business plans, and it links to a credits rate card.

What we could verify: Jasper’s pricing page doesn’t show a per-word cap or a monthly credit number for Pro. What we couldn’t verify: a dollar price per credit. Jasper doesn’t list one on the pricing page, and sites like eesel AI’s Jasper pricing guide say the same thing.

In practice, this means the Pro sticker price is fairly predictable. Business bills are harder to predict, and you should ask how credits are included and what overages cost before you sign.

Does Jasper Have a Free Plan?

Jasper doesn’t have a free plan. It offers a 7-day free trial on the Pro plan, which Jasper says is how most people start. The trial covers Pro only, not Business. After seven days, the trial turns into a paid Pro subscription unless you cancel.

Seven days is enough to test brand voice, Canvas and a few long-form sections. It isn’t enough to test Jasper on a book. Plan your trial around the one question you need answered.

Two more discounts are on the official page. Jasper offers 20% off for nonprofits if you email proof of status to its team. The annual discount of about 20% is the only other published saving.

Jasper accepts major credit and debit cards, bills in USD and doesn’t take PayPal. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your billing cycle. The pricing page doesn’t mention refunds for past charges.

What Does It Cost to Write a Book With Jasper?

Writing a book with Jasper costs about $207 to $708 for one seat, depending on how long the project takes and how you pay. Jasper charges for every month you’re subscribed, so the real price is the monthly fee times the length of your project.

ScenarioBillingDurationTotal
Fast nonfiction draftPro monthly ($69)3 months$207
Steady draft plus revisionPro monthly ($69)6 months$414
One year, committedPro annual ($59)12 months$708
Three years of books and marketingPro annual ($59)36 months$2,124

Those totals don’t include what Jasper isn’t built to do for authors. Jasper doesn’t give you a book outline built around your genre, a chapter-by-chapter manuscript workflow or print-ready exports. It generates long-form content in Canvas section by section, and you put the book together yourself.

We walk through that workflow in our guide to using Jasper to write a book. For the whole cost picture, including editing and covers, see our breakdown of AI book writing costs.

Where Jasper Beats Chapter

We build Chapter, so you should question this section more than any other. There are real situations where Jasper is the better buy, and we’ll say that plainly. Our full Chapter vs Jasper comparison goes deeper.

Marketing your book, not writing it. Launch emails, Amazon ad variants, social posts, landing pages and podcast pitches are exactly what Jasper is built for. Chapter produces a manuscript. It doesn’t run a book launch.

Brand voice across everything you publish. If you’re a coach or consultant whose book is one asset among many, Jasper’s Brand Voices and Knowledge assets keep your newsletter, website and ads sounding the same. Chapter only shapes the voice of the book.

Languages and images. Jasper supports 30+ languages and includes an image generation and editing suite. If you’re marketing a translated edition or need quick promotional graphics, Jasper handles both in one subscription.

Working inside your existing tools. Jasper’s Chrome and Edge extension brings it into the browser apps you already write in. Chapter is a separate workspace you go to on purpose.

Teams. Business adds governance, SSO, API access and shared brand controls. A publishing company or agency with ten marketers has needs that Chapter was never built to meet.

You can try it for free. The 7-day trial lets you test Jasper before paying anything. That’s a real advantage for cautious buyers.

Where Jasper’s pricing works against you is the book itself. Three years of Pro on annual billing costs $2,124, and you still build every manuscript section by section. Chapter costs $97 one time and generates a complete, structured manuscript you can edit and export.

Our Product — Chapter

Chapter walks you from idea to a complete, structured book manuscript, then lets you edit and export it. One payment, no seats, no monthly bill, no credits.

Best for: authors who want a finished book draft rather than a marketing content engine Pricing: $97 one-time — nonfiction or fiction Why we built it: because a book shouldn’t cost you a marketing team’s subscription every month you work on it

More than 2,147 authors have used Chapter to create over 5,000 books. Plenty of those authors could sensibly pair Chapter for the manuscript with Jasper for the launch. If you do that, you’ll know exactly what each tool is for.

Is Jasper Worth the Price?

Jasper is worth the price if you publish marketing content every week and need it to sound consistent across channels. At $59 a month, Pro is good value for a solo marketer or an author-entrepreneur running a content business. It’s poor value if all you want is a book, because you pay every month the draft takes.

FAQ

Is Jasper cheaper than ChatGPT?

Jasper is not cheaper than ChatGPT for most people. Jasper Pro starts at $59 per month billed annually, which is well above a standard individual ChatGPT subscription. Jasper adds brand voice and marketing workflows. See our ChatGPT vs Jasper comparison and ChatGPT pricing guide.

Does Jasper have a free trial?

Jasper offers a 7-day free trial on the Pro plan, according to its official pricing page as of September 2026. The trial doesn’t cover the Business plan. Jasper has no permanent free tier, so you’ll need to cancel before the trial ends if you don’t want to be charged.

Can I cancel Jasper anytime?

You can cancel Jasper at any time on the monthly Pro plan, and you keep access until your billing cycle ends. Monthly subscribers can also pause for 30 days. Annual plans require a 12-month commitment, and Jasper’s pricing page doesn’t mention refunds for past charges.

How much does Jasper cost for a team?

Jasper doesn’t publish team pricing. Pro includes one seat only, and Jasper sends anyone who needs more users to sales for a Business plan quote. Business contracts start with a 12-month commitment, and credits for advanced features like agents sit on top of seat pricing.

Is Jasper good for writing a book?

Jasper is built for marketing content, not books. You can draft long-form sections in Canvas, but you’ll have to handle book structure and chapter consistency yourself. For a complete manuscript, a dedicated book tool like Chapter is cheaper. Our Jasper AI for book writing review covers it.
