Squibler pricing has three tiers: a Free plan, Plus at $29.99 per month ($15.83 a month billed annually) and Pro at $89.99 per month ($49.17 a month billed annually). Plus gives you 10,000 AI credits a month. Pro makes credits unlimited.
Every figure below comes from Squibler’s official pricing page, checked on 6 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm there before you buy.
In this breakdown, you’ll get:
- Every plan with monthly and annual prices side by side
- What the free plan actually covers, and what Squibler doesn’t tell you
- The total cost of one book, a year, and two years of use
- An honest section on where Squibler beats Chapter, and where it doesn’t
Here are the plans.
How Much Does Squibler Cost per Month?
Squibler costs $0, $29.99 or $89.99 per month on monthly billing. Paying yearly drops Plus to $15.83 a month and Pro to $49.17 a month. The pricing page advertises “Save 45%” on annual billing, which matches the math within a couple of points.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Annual total | AI credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | 1,000 per month |
| Plus | $29.99 | $15.83 | ~$190 | 10,000 per month |
| Pro | $89.99 | $49.17 | ~$590 | Unlimited |
The page marks Plus as “Most Popular.” Pro is the only tier that removes the credit cap.
One inconsistency worth flagging: the FAQ on the same page quotes rounded figures, $16 a month ($192 a year) for Plus and $49 a month ($588 a year) for Pro. The plan cards multiply out to about $189.96 and $590.04. Expect the checkout total to follow the cards, but confirm it before you pay.
What Do You Get on the Squibler Free Plan?
The Squibler free plan gives you 1,000 AI credits a month, forever. The pricing page says you can “test full book and screenplay creation” on it, and the FAQ confirms there’s no time limit.
That’s a real test drive, not a seven-day countdown. You can see what Squibler’s AI does with your idea before you spend anything.
What the page doesn’t say is how many credits a chapter or a full book uses. We couldn’t verify a per-chapter credit cost from any official Squibler source, so we won’t guess one. Treat 1,000 credits as a sample, not a book budget.
The free plan also isn’t where you finish. Full-length manuscript generation, PDF and DOCX export, and unlimited images are listed as paid-plan benefits.
What Does Squibler Plus Include?
Squibler Plus costs $29.99 a month or $15.83 a month billed yearly. The FAQ calls it the plan for writers working on a single book or screenplay.
You get:
- 10,000 AI credits per month
- Full-length manuscript generation, pitched as “a full 200-300 page book”
- Character, plot and structure consistency tools
- Whole-manuscript AI editing
- Export to PDF and DOCX
Note that EPUB isn’t on the export list. If you’re uploading an ebook to a store, you’ll likely convert the DOCX yourself. Our guide to ebook formatting covers that step.
Is Squibler Pro Worth It?
Squibler Pro is worth it if you write several books or screenplays at once and keep hitting the Plus credit cap. At $89.99 a month, or $49.17 billed yearly, it adds unlimited AI credits and the promise to “generate as many books as you want.”
Everything else is the same as Plus. You’re paying for headroom, not new features.
If you write one book at a time, Pro is three times the price for capacity you may never touch. Start on Plus and upgrade only when credits actually run out.
What Is Squibler’s Refund and Cancellation Policy?
This is where the fine print matters. Squibler’s Terms and Conditions (effective 21 April 2026) say you can cancel anytime, but cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period, and there are no refunds for partial periods unless local consumer law requires one.
The terms do list a right of withdrawal: 14 days for buyers in the EU and UK, and 7 days elsewhere. That refund excludes the value of any service you used. The EU’s Your Europe guidance on online purchases explains how that withdrawal right works for digital services.
On the plus side, the pricing FAQ says that if you cancel, you can still export your work and open it in free mode. You don’t lose your manuscript.
In practice, the annual plan is the risky one. Pay $190 upfront, stall in month two, and you’re unlikely to see most of it back.
What Does It Really Cost to Write a Book With Squibler?
The sticker price is moderate. The real cost depends on how long your book takes, because a subscription bills for elapsed time, not finished pages.
| Scenario | Squibler cost | Chapter cost |
|---|---|---|
| Try it before paying | $0 (Free plan) | $97, 30-day money-back guarantee |
| One book in 1 month (Plus monthly) | $29.99 | $97 (includes a second book) |
| One book in 6 months (Plus monthly) | ~$180 | $97 (includes a second book) |
| One year of Plus (annual) | ~$190 | $97 |
| Two years of Plus (annual) | ~$380 | $97 |
| One year of Pro (annual) | ~$590 | $97 |
If you draft fast and cancel within a month or two, Squibler is cheaper. Most books aren’t written that fast. Our guide on how long it takes to write a book shows first books often run for months, and a stalled draft keeps billing.

Where Squibler Beats Chapter
We build Chapter, so read this with that in mind. Here’s where Squibler genuinely wins.
1. It has a permanent free plan. We don’t. Chapter has no free tier and no free trial. Squibler lets you test book and screenplay generation for $0 with no end date.
2. It writes screenplays. Squibler supports scripts as well as books. Chapter is a book platform with no screenplay format at all. If you’re writing for film or TV, Squibler wins outright.
3. One fast book costs less. A single month of Plus is $29.99, under a third of Chapter’s $97. If you’ll finish and cancel within two or three months, Squibler is cheaper.
4. Pro scales to unlimited books. Chapter’s $97 covers two books. If you publish many titles a year, Squibler Pro’s unlimited credits suit high volume better.
5. You keep access after cancelling. Your work stays available in free mode. Squibler’s FAQ also mentions a free physical copy of the first book you create, though the page doesn’t spell out which plans qualify or how shipping works.
Our Squibler review goes deeper on its corkboard planner and visual tools, which are also genuinely good.
Why Chapter Is Still Our Pick for Most Authors
Our Pick — Chapter
Chapter writes your complete book, fiction or nonfiction, from a structure planned before any prose is generated. You pay $97 once, and that covers two books. There’s no subscription, you keep 100% of the rights, and there’s a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Best for: authors writing one or two serious, full-length books who want a finished manuscript rather than a monthly bill Pricing: $97 one time, 2 books included (fiction or nonfiction), 30-day money-back guarantee Why we built it: books take longer than anyone plans, and we didn’t want authors paying rent on a draft that stalled.
Here’s why it earns the top spot for most readers of this post:
- No clock. Your price doesn’t rise if your book takes a year instead of a month. One year of Squibler Plus annual already costs about twice Chapter’s one-time price.
- A refund window you can use. Squibler gives no refunds for partial periods outside statutory withdrawal rights. Chapter gives you 30 days.
- No credit math. Squibler doesn’t publish what a book costs in credits. Chapter’s price covers two complete books.
- Proof at scale. More than 2,147 authors have used Chapter to create over 5,000 books, and it’s been featured in USA Today and the New York Times.
Our Chapter review covers what Chapter does and doesn’t do well, and Chapter’s pricing explained breaks the $97 down. For the full head-to-head, read Chapter vs Squibler.
You can see the plans for nonfiction and fiction on chapter.pub.
Can You Sell Books Made With Squibler?
Yes. Squibler’s pricing FAQ says everything you create is 100% yours, and you’re the author and owner of your work.
Two outside rules apply whichever tool you use. Amazon’s KDP content guidelines require you to disclose AI-generated text, images or translations. And the US Copyright Office’s AI guidance says purely AI-generated material isn’t copyrightable, so your own edits matter.
